NFL fans were debatably shocked when the Houston Texans opened their enormous piggy bank for inexperienced Brock Osweiler this past offseason with a four-year, $72 million contract. Heck, even Matt Flynn was cracking jokes.
But today we see a new signal caller back there – a former leader of Pewter City. That’s right, the new-look Brock.. Osweiler.
With the Texans visiting the New England Patriots tonight (CBS, 8:25 p.m. ET), we’ll see whether the 6-foot-8 hurler can really catch/throw ’em all.
Interestingly enough, Osweiler’s last go around against Bill Belichick’s powerhouse went fairly well (in his second professional start) and current Houston coach Bill O’Brien – a quarterback guru of sorts – very much took notice.
