Just when I thought the New Orleans Pelicans couldn’t possibly be any more mediocre, they went ahead and traded for DeMarcus Cousins.. and totally redeemed themselves! How’d they do it, you ask? Well, the Pelicans sent young (question mark) stud Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, a protected 2017 first-round pick and a 2017 second-rounder to the Sacramento Kings for Boogie and Omri Casspi. In other words, pure theft.
But while I’m all about the potential of this monstrously talented front court, one has to question how well Cousins and Anthony Davis (and his money unibrow) will mesh in Alvin Gentry’s fast-paced offense considering Boogie Down Productions arrives from the fourth-slowest paced team in the NBA’s Kings.
Could this also be the end of the Kings in Sacramento? It also still remains to be seen whether the video of Boogie realizing he was traded will be more memorable than his New Orleans career.
Only time will tell.
